The True Reward For a Giver

Debbie and I have dedicated our lives to the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus.  We have left all to follow Jesus with the understanding that He is our source of supply.

We make no false promises to you of vast wealth as a result of giving to this ministry.  That would be a misinterpretation of the scriptures.

We offer on-line credit card processing as a convenience to you.  It is not our intention that anyone should go into debt in order to give to this ministry.  Our desire is that you give out of what you have and not what you don′t have, and that your motivation for giving is your love for God and a desire to help this ministry.  We very much appreciate every gift we receive as we do our part to increase and strengthen the Body of Christ.

For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.   2 Corinthians 8:12

There are two ways to give according to the New Testament.

One is as the Lord′s steward (principles found in Luke, chapters15-20). Listen for His voice; if you hear Him say an amount He would like you to give, then that is what you ought to give.

The other New Testament way–if you don′t hear Him say an amount–is to purpose in your own heart what you would like to give: not grudgingly, not by necessity, not because you have to, but for the purpose of spreading the Good News, leading people to salvation through Jesus, bringing a revival of sound doctrine, healing and miracles, and strengthening the Body of Christ.

Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver.
   2 Corinthians 9:7

So why do we give?  We give because there is a treasure in this earth that is far more valuable to our Father than coins or silver or gold.  The value of this treasure is priceless because it cost Jesus His life.  Mankind is this treasure.  Our giving has an eternal effect because as we give more people hear the gospel and are added to God’s family.  We are in fact laying treasure up in heaven because that treasure is souls of people who heard the message as a result of our giving.

Don’t ever give because someone compelled you with false promises, give for love’s sake alone.  Give out of your love for God and your love for people.  One day you will see your reward in heaven when He shows you all the faces of those who made decisions for Jesus because you gave.
